Molecular Screening of β-Lactoglobulin Gene Variation for Allergy-free Milk Production in Indonesian Friesian Holstein

چکیده

Abstract The most allergenic protein in cow’s milk for new-borns is Beta Lactoglobulin (β-LG), which also one of the bovine whey proteins. As a result, choosing suitable animals to create free essential. In this study, Indonesian Friesian Holstein’s genetic variants β-LG gene were examined). Forty-two blood samples sampled as DNA sources. allele and genotype variant identified using PCR-RFLP, or Polymerase Chain Reaction - Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism. Successful amplification with 247 bp product size was followed by sequencing HaeIII enzyme digestion (GG|CC). There discovered be three genotypes two types alleles, A B, frequencies being AA (0.26), AB (0.50), BB (0.24). population equilibrium because B have respective 0.51 0.49. conclusion, molecular-assisted selection can allergen-free utilizing genes.

Association of Genetic Variants ofB-Lactoglobulin Gene with Milk Production in a Herd and a Superior Family of Holstein Cattle

Polymorphism of the b-lactoglobulin (b-LG) gene in 101 cows belonging to the Holstein herd and a superior cow, producing more than 150 Kg milk/day, together with four offsprings was investigated by the Polymerase Chain Reaction-Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) method. In the Holstein herd, the alleles A and B of the b-LG gene had frequencies of 0.53 and 0.47, respectively. Th...

Gene targeting by TALEN-induced homologous recombination in goats directs production of β-lactoglobulin-free, high-human lactoferrin milk

β-Lactoglobulin (BLG) is a major goat's milk allergen that is absent in human milk. Engineered endonucleases, including transcription activator-like effector nucleases (TALENs) and zinc-finger nucleases, enable targeted genetic modification in livestock. In this study, TALEN-mediated gene knockout followed by gene knock-in were used to generate BLG knockout goats as mammary gland bioreactors fo...

Estimates of Genetic and Phenotypic Parameters for Milk Production in Moroccan Holstein-Friesian Cows

To satisfy the growing demand of the human population for milk, the Moroccan government set up a plan in 1975 to increase milk production. The most important genetic strategies were the introduction of improved dairy cattle, the institution of milk recording, and the extension of artificial insemination (AI). Thus, more than 10,000 Holstein and Friesian heifers were purchased annually from Euro...

Role of specific IgE to β-lactoglobulin in the gastrointestinal phenotype of cow’s milk allergy

RATIONALE The prevalence of many phenotypes of food allergy is increasing. Specific gastrointestinal (GI) phenotype of food allergy (GI allergy) is also increasing but it is difficult to know the prevalence because of many entities. METHODS AND RESULTS: A 1 year retrospective study of pediatric patients complaining exclusively gastrointestinal symptoms after cow's milk consumption and at least ...
